Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria

To join the Agniveer Airforce, you need to meet these eligibility criteria:

  • To join the Agniveer Airforce, you must be an Indian citizen.
  • You must be born between 27th June 2003 and 27th December 2006.
  • If you pass all selection stages, you must be under 21 when enrolling.
  • You must be unmarried. Both men and women applying must promise to stay unmarried during the four-year service period. You will be discharged from the service if you marry during this time.
  • Female candidates must agree not to get pregnant during the four years. If a female Agniveer Vayu becomes pregnant, she will be discharged from service and not eligible for regular cadre selection.

When you enroll, you will need to sign an agreement accepting these conditions.

Agniveer Air Force Recruitment 2024 Educational Qualification

To apply, you must meet one of these qualifications:

(a) Eligibility Criteria for Science Subjects:

Class 12/Intermediate: You should have passed the 10+2 exam with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized board with at least 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English.

OR

Diploma in Engineering: You should have completed a three-year diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or Information Technology) from a recognized polytechnic with at least 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English, either in the diploma course or in Class 10/12 if English was not a subject in the diploma.

OR

Vocational Course: You should have completed a two-year vocational course with non-vocational subjects like Physics and Mathematics from a recognized board with at least 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English, either in the vocational course or in Class 10/12 if English was not a subject in the vocational course.

 

(b) Eligibility Criteria for Other Than Science Subjects:

Class 12/Intermediate: You should have passed the 10+2 exam in any stream from a recognized board with at least 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English.

OR

Vocational Course: You should have completed a two-year vocational course from a recognized board with at least 50% marks overall and 50% marks in English, either in the vocational course or in Class 10/12 if English was not a subject in the vocational course.

Agniveer Airforce Recruitment 2024 Selection Process

The Indian Air Force Agniveer selection process for the Air Force Agneepath Scheme Recruitment 2024 comprises six stages, each designed to thoroughly evaluate candidates:

Written Exam: The exam evaluates the candidate’s knowledge and aptitude in various subjects relevant to the program. It consists of multiple-choice questions covering subjects like Mathematics, Physics, English, and general awareness.

CASB (Central Airmen Selection Board) Test: This test further assesses your suitability for the role through various aptitude and psychological evaluations.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT): These tests evaluate your physical fitness test (PFT) and ensure you meet the required physical standards, including height, weight, and chest measurements.

PFT would consist of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds. Candidates shall also have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups, and 20 Squats within the stipulated time to qualify for the Physical Fitness Test.

Adaptability Test-I and Test-II: The Agniveer Adaptability test assesses your ability to adapt to the demanding and dynamic environment of the Air Force. They include various situational judgment and adaptability assessments including the effectiveness of deployment across diverse locations, various weather conditions, and operational scenarios

Document Verification: In this stage, your educational and other relevant documents are verified to ensure they meet the specified requirements.

Medical Examination: This final stage assesses your overall health and medical fitness to ensure you can handle the physical demands of the role. 

Each stage is crucial in selecting the best candidates for the Agniveer program.

General Medical Standards for Agniveer Airforce

Height Requirement:

  • Male Candidates: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cm.
  • Female Candidates: Minimum acceptable height is 152 cm.
  • For candidates from North East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand, a lower minimum height of 147 cm is accepted.
  • For candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height is 150 cm.

Note: Candidates availing height relaxation for being domiciles of North East, hilly regions of Uttarakhand, or Lakshadweep must submit a domicile certificate with the endorsement of domicile status at the time of Phase-II testing. Candidates from the hilly areas of Uttarakhand must have a specific endorsement of the hilly region in their domicile certificate.

Weight Requirement: Proportionate to height and age.

Chest: For both male and female candidates, the minimum chest circumference is 77 cm, and the chest expansion should be at least 05 cm

Hearing: Candidates should have normal hearing, i.e., they must be able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.

Dental: Candidates should have healthy gums, good teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.

Visual standards: Visual Acuity should be 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6.

Body Tattoo: Permanent body tattoos are not permitted, however, tattoos only on the inner face of the forearms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of the palm, and Tribals with tattoo which are as per the custom and traditions of their tribes may be considered.

Medical Examination for Agniveer Airforce

Candidates who pass Adaptability Test-II will receive a medical appointment letter at their respective Airmen Selection Centres (ASCs). The Air Force Medical Team will conduct the medical examination according to Indian Airforce medical standards and current policies. The medical examination includes the following tests:

  • Blood Haemogram
  • Urine RE/ME
  • Chest X-Ray
  • Ultrasonography of the lower abdomen and pelvis (for female candidates only)
  • ECG
  • Any other test deemed necessary by the Medical Officer

These tests ensure that candidates meet the health and fitness requirements for the role.

The Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu Recruitment online test details are as follows:

  • Science Subjects: The test duration is 60 minutes and includes questions on English, Physics, and Mathematics based on the 10+2 CBSE syllabus.
  • Other Than Science Subjects: The test duration is 45 minutes and includes questions on English (as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
  • Both Science and Other Than Science Subjects: The test duration is 85 minutes and includes questions on English, Physics, Mathematics (as per the 10+2 CBSE syllabus), and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).

Indian Airforce Agniveer Vayu Recruitment Marking Scheme

The IAF Agniveer Vayu Exam will use the following marking scheme:

Agniveer Airforce Salary and Benefits

The initial salary for candidates selected under the Indian Air Force Agniveer Recruitment starts at Rs. 21,700 per month. The exact salary may vary based on the specific position and the number of years of service.

After completing 4 years as an Agniveer in the Agniveer Airforce, candidates will receive a Seva Nidhi Package of Rs. 10.04 lakh, along with a Skill Gained Certificate. Additionally, up to 25% of Agniveers will be enrolled in the regular cadre of the Indian Air Force. The Seva Nidhi Package includes a total contribution of Rs. 5.02 lakh from the individual’s savings, which is matched by the government.

Note: Agniveer Airforce will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government. There shall be no entitlement to any gratuity or any kind of pensionary benefits in the case of Agniveer Airforce.

Leave: Granting leave will depend on the needs of the organization. During their engagement period, Agniveervayu is entitled to:

  • Annual Leave: 30 days per year.
  • Sick Leave: Based on medical advice.

Medical and CSD Facilities: During their engagement period, Agniveer Airfirce will have access to medical facilities at Service Hospitals and can use CSD provisions.

Life Insurance Cover: Agniveers will receive a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakhs during their engagement period. They will not be eligible for Air Force Group Insurance Fund (AFGIS) schemes or benefits.
