Candidates within the age range of 17.5 years to 23 years (revised) are eligible to avail the benefits of the Agneepath Scheme for the Agniveer batch in the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy.

Agniveers will be inducted into the Indian Navy under the provisions of the Navy Act 1957, for a tenure of 4 years.
They will hold a unique rank within the Armed Forces, distinct from any of the existing ranks.
Upon completing four years of service, Agniveers will receive a one-time Seva Nidhi Package totaling Rs. 11.71 Lakh.
Additionally, 25% of Agniveer candidates will eventually transition into the regular cadre of the Armed Forces.
Only 25 percent of Agniveers will be granted permanent commission. The remaining personnel will be required to conclude their service after the four-year duration, receiving a lump-sum payment of approximately Rs. 12 lakh, along with associated privileges.
Candidates who have completed the 10+2/Intermediate examination but do not hold a Matriculation certificate, and have studied subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English, are eligible.
Furthermore, those who have cleared the 10+2/Intermediate examination in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and at least 40% in each subject, can apply.
An additional condition is that the candidates should be at least 18 years old to be considered for higher qualification.
